Everything Parmesan Crisps
This week’s episode is all about the ketogenic (keto for short) diet. This is a super low-carb, high-fat diet people typically use for weigh loss. It was originally used to treat children with epilepsy, and is used today among people who want to reach ketosis… a state in which the body burns fat stores for energy. The diet includes:
Avoiding - sugar, grains, starches, fruit, beans and legumes, root vegetables, low-fat foods, condiments with sugar (e.g. ketchup), alcohol, sugar-free diet food
Eating - meat, fatty fish, eggs, butter, cream, cheese, nuts, seeds, healthy oils (e.g. olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil), avocados, low-carb vegetables (e.g. broccoli, onions, greens), herbs, and spices

Everything Parmesan Crisps

Ingredients:
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3/4 teaspoon sesame seeds
3/4 teaspoon dried onion flakes
3/4 teaspoon dried garlic flakes
3/4 teaspoon poppy seeds
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Spoon 2 tablespoon Parmesan cheese onto baking sheet, patting down into a circle. Continue adding mounds of cheese and patting down into a circle.
Bake cheese for 3 minutes.
Combine sesame seeds, onion flakes, garlic flakes, and poppy seeds in a bowl; sprinkle over each cheese round.
Continue baking until golden and crisp, about 5 minutes.
